Minutes July 6, 2011
Eileen Hulsman called the meeting to order.
GCWS Art Show
Eileen asked the winners of the GCWS Art Show to come to the front of the room to be honored by the group.
AWARDS
1st place - Deb Ward for “Muncie’s Pride” - $250
2nd place - Jean Vance for “Stonington Maine” - $100
3rd place - Marita "Ritzie" Junker for “Waiting” - $50
HONORABLE MENTIONS - Ribbons only
“Secluded Cape Cod Pond” by Joan Ammerman
“Citta d’Venezia” by Susan Grogan
“A Difference of Opinion” by R.H. Carpenter
Congratulations to all who entered the show and to all the winners.
Marilyn Bishop sent out notices to all the community press papers and The Enquirer and sent notices after the show. The only way she knows if they are put in the papers is if you bring in the press release. One was brought in of Rhonda Carpenter's "A Difference of Opinion".
Shirley Knollman reported that we had 43 members with 86 paintings in the show. 4 paintings sold @ $200 or less per painting. Thanks to Susan Grogan, Taylor Bush and Rhonda Carpenter for leading the teams for registration, sitting the show and hanging the show. Thanks to all who sat the show and brought food and drinks for the reception. Everyone should have attended.
Scholarship
Ardelle Duffy said that we had received a thank you note from the scholarship winner.
Election
Elections will be held in November. The positions that are open are: President, Secretary, Treasury, Program Chair. Cards were passed out to the membership so they could list their suggestions for the election.
Evergreen Show
Eileen Hulsman asked for a show of hands of those people that would like a second show this year. Then she asked for a show of hands for those that would put at least two paintings in Evergreen show in Sept. A large number of people raised their hands. Keep the dates of Sept. 22 through Sept. 25 available.
Library
Marilyn Bishop said there are 4 more additions to the video library. Fill out the card with name, title, and date and you can borrow a video.
Workshops
Sandy Maudlin has a 3 day yupo workshop and a batik class coming up. You can see her e-mail or call her.
Deb Ward had several workshops available. Both Sandy and Deb are on E-mail and in our phone book.
Deadline is August 31 for application for ViewPoint. Brochures are on the back table.

Welcome back to Mary Marxen.
Upcoming Programs
Next month we will meet at the auditorium on the G level of the Art Museum for our meeting and our program. A sign up sheet was passed around for those that are going to attend.
