GCWS Member Meeting - September 2024
Our September 2024 member meeting was held at ArtsConnect and feature an in-person art demonstration by Rhonda Sloan. She is an award-winning professional artist who provides watercolor instruction via classes and workshops.
In her own words, " I'm a watercolor artist driven by a profound love for the arts and a fascination with the magic of watercolor. My journey as a watercolor artist began after a serendipitous encounter with the legendary Bob Ross. One day, while watching an episode of his iconic painting show, I was captivated by the way he brought life to the canvas with each brushstroke. Inspired by his passion and gentle guidance, I decided to pick up a brush myself and give painting a try."
After Rhonda's excellent demonstration, members gave their feedback on the Annual Show, and President Jim Warner made several announcemnets regarding the upcoming October GCWS workshop by Gary Brooks, a David Smith workshop in Fairborn OH, and the Mariemont Paint Out for plein air painters. Congratulations go toTom Schroeder and Keith Shebesta who were both Award winners at the Piqua Fine Arts Show!
