The Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society Announces Its Annual Watercolor Exhibition

World renowned watercolorist, Chris Krupinski, will judge the show of over 60 expected entries

Cincinnati, OH – July 26, 2022.  The Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society (GCWS) announces its annual watercolor artwork show. The Opening Reception will take place on Sunday, August 7, 2022, 1 – 4 pm, at “The Barn” (the Woman’s Art Club and Cultural Center) at 6980 Cambridge Avenue in Mariemont, Ohio.  Libations and light bites provided by member volunteers will be served at the Opening Reception.

The All-Member Watercolor Show will be on display at the Barn from Thursday, August 4, 2022, to Sunday, August 28, 2022.  Hours of operation are Tuesday-Friday, 10 am – 2 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 1 pm – 4 pm.

Entries in the show are being accepted now. Registration fees are $25.00 for one painting and $30.00 for two paintings.  Please contact Show Chair, Kathy Lang, for more information and to sign up.  Her email is krlang1953@yahoo.com.  Membership in the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society is a prerequisite for entry in the show. Entries MUST be received no later than Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

 

The judge this year will be Chris Krupinski who has achieved signature status in numerous watercolor societies nationwide and won many “Best of Show” awards and top prizes in the top-recognized juried shows, both nationally and internationally. Chris’s artwork has been jury selected to exhibit in China, Turkey, Taiwan, Greece, Holland, Italy, and Russia.

 

Three financial prizes plus several honorable mention ribbons will be awarded.  Winners will be announced and awards given during the Opening Reception.

The Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society is a 20-year-old 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded to encourage the creation of watercolor artwork by artists of all skill levels in the tri-state Cincinnati region and promotes skill development and appreciation for the art of watercolor and water media. Monthly presentations, annual workshops and art exhibits offer members great opportunities for artistic development and growth.
